Where to find antique diamond ring in New England?

I’m helping my best friend’s boyfriend pick out an engagement ring for her. He really wants to get her an antique diamond ring, preferably from the 1920s, 30s, or 40s. We currently reside in Rhode Island but we’re definitely willing to travel a few hours - probably up to 4 - if anyone has a great suggestion! Thanks.

   HI! When I want to purchase beautiful and unique antique jewelry I hit the local on-the-outskirts pawn shops. I always find gorgeous, one of a kind pieces. They usually sell by weight…another advantage. He could probably find the perfect setting after a little hunting then purchase a new diamond / have it set if necessary.
